The evil that men do lives after them; the good is oft interred with their bones.
Can you recognize this line? It is from Julius Caesar written by Shakespeare. The good deeds are often forgotten when a person dies, but the evil lives even after they die! In the recent times, this seems a little invalid. Yes ! I am talking about all those names that just came up in your mind!
When someone dies, we are quick to forget their shortcomings. Do not speak ill of the dead is an unsaid courtesy. But do they really die with the person? It is okay if he/she was a miser who wouldn’t spare a penny to anyone. At his death, you can look for good things to say about him and not mention his stinginess.
But what happens if he/she is a rapist, corrupt or a abuser. Do we still forget their evil deeds and focus on the good. Is that the right thing to do. Does death really absolve someone of all their sins?
Truth has this way of just creeping out somehow. It is the only thing that can stand the test of time.
